A Bailieboro native is completing a 1000m swim each day over the month of January.
It's all in aid of the Cavan Hospital Special Care Baby Unit and to raise awarness of the service in the area.
Aaron Hynes has been completing a January challenge for the past 8 years now since his little boy Harry was born 10 weeks prematurely.
Last year he raised €4000 which bought a Jaundice lamp for an incubator and in 2024 the family were able to purchase 12 breast pumps for new mums. The local man had once again set up a go fund me page.
Aaron says the funds raised go directly to the unit which he says is a way for him to give back in some small way for all the great work that the local facility does.
