Barry McGuigan will attend the Peace Campus in Monaghan Town this Saturday to celebrate Cruinniú na nÓg.
The Clones Cyclone will be marking the 40th anniversary of his historic world title victory on June 8th 1995.
Curator of Monaghan County Museum, Liam Bradley says Saturday is an important gathering of the youth.
When asked about Barry's participation in this weekend's Cruinniú na nÓg event, Liam said the champion boxer is "very focused" on talking to the next generation, many of whom are learning his story for the very first time.
Monaghan Museum will be working with Foróige and Monaghan Library to carry our a number of small projects on the day with the Clones Cyclone.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Liam is encouraging people to attend tomorrow's free event which will have something for all the family to enjoy: "Anyone can come and enjoy tomorrow's event, obviously the focus is about gathering the youth but anyone of any age can come down and spend the day and get a sense of what Monaghan County Council have done here and the ambition they have shown.
"It was the ambition of Monaghan County Council to so something this unique and to bring all these services together and events like tomorrow where you have a major event, lots of different things happening in the building and a major iconic Monaghan person like Barry McGuigan there really reflects the idea of what we want to do here which is create a transformative change in the county."
