Poultry farmers are "very lucky" that the number of cases of avian influenza appears to have "come to an end".
That's according to Co. Cavan poultry farmer, Brendan Soden.
Mr. Soden was elected as the IFA's poultry chair last week.
He explained that poultry farmers have kept up their biosecurity over the Christmas period.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Mr. Soden warned that the disease is still out there in the environment.
The poultry chair urged farmers to "keep their vigilance up".
