Blayney Blades hosted an event this morning to mark international women's day which takes place on the 8th of March next.
Bernadette McAliskey and Cllr Cathy Bennett were the guest speakers and there was plenty of discussion around women, equality and political representation on a local and national level.
Blayney Blades is a Women's Group based in Íontas Centre, Castleblayney. The Group is committed to promoting the Holistic Development of women and their families so that they may develop their own potential and play an active role in their community.

Great interaction and conversation was had with the up to 70 women that attended the event today. Lorraine Cunningham from Blayney Blades outlines the importance of the group in the area.
