Body discovered following extensive search in Oldcastle/Mountnugent area

A body of a male has been discovered tonight as hundreds searched from early light for missing Oldcastle man, Mark Smith.

Gardai have confirmed that following the discovery sometime before 9pm, the missing person appeal that was issued has now been stood down.

Hundreds from the Oldcastle, Ballyjamesduff and Mountnugent wider areas had come together to search for the missing man after he went missing when he went for a run before 9am yesterday morning.
