A Cavan woman has said that financial security and planning for the future is a big issue facing farmers.
Sophie Bell is a young farmer from Cavan who has shared her experience of the farm life on social media.
She was speaking as the Health and Safety Authority has launched a week-long inspection campaign highlighting risks of certain health and wellness conditions due to the nature of their environment.
Sophie explained that it is difficult for farmers to take a break, and often they have another full-time job on top of their farming obligations.
She explained that burnout is a big issue among farmers and will add to issues like neglecting their own health. Speaking to Northern Sound she outlined the issue with the lack of financial security.
