A local TD says its not too late for the government to assist local mental health charity SOSAD with the funding they need.
SOSAD announced its messaging service, which costs €4,000 a month to run, will close tomorrow due to a lack of funding. The charity said the reality is that some services, like this one, simply cannot be maintained under the current circumstances.
Deputy Matt Carthy says the calls that SOSAD have made to date have fallen on 'deaf ears' by the government. The Sinn Fein TD said this decision by the local charity is regrettable and he is worried that more services could also go.
