A local councillor has called on once again the need for a pedestrian crossing on the Oldcastle Rd in Ballyjamesduff.
Cllr Trevor Smith said it was something that he has raised before but due to the high volumes of pedestrians on the route he was renewing his call.
Cllr Smith said there was a number of facilities on the busy road along with four housing estates. The Fine Gael councillor highlighted his concerns at the monthly meeting of the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District.
His concerns were also shared by Cllr Noel Connell who said it was a real danger and that every time he passes that road there is always people walking along it. Cllr Smith outlined his calls for a pedestrian crossing along the stretch.
