Calls for urgent works to upgrade Black Island amenities

There’s hopes the Black Island at Lough Muckno could be enhanced and become a greater part of Castleblayney tourism.

Councillor Aidan Campbell was speaking after he called for an update on a report being carried out into developing the site and fixing flooding issues.

He said there has been a lot of investment at Lough Muckno in recent years, but the Black Island isn’t being kept to the same standard.

Councillor Campbell said he hopes some continued co-operation could improve the entire site.
