The right to use cash must be protected that's according to local MEP Chris Mac Manus. The local MEP says signs reading 'No Cash, Card Only' must be a thing of the past.
He said government must deliver appropriate, common-sense reforms to fully protect customers' right to use cash. Mr MacManus has been advocating at EU-level to protect this right for customers and businesses.
In recent weeks proposals were brought to cabinet on the issue. Chris MacManus says ,any constituents he has spoken to feel their rights are being infringed as more and more payment facilities become cashless. Mr MacManus says the right to cash is a basic human right in modern society.
