Two units from Carrickmacross Fire Station attended what was described as a "serious two-vehicle road traffic collision" on the N2 last night.
The road was closed in both directions, around 3 kilometres south of Carrickmacross due to the collision in the townland of Monaltybane.
Emergency services were at the scene and the road re-opened in the early hours of this morning.

In an online post, Carrickmacross Fire and Rescue wished all casualties involved a full and speedy recovery.
