Sinn Féin TD Matt Carthy welcomes the results of a new Irish Times survey which states more people than ever in the North are in favour of a united Ireland.
The Irish Times in conjunction with the Erins Project opinion poll found that, last year 34 per cent of people living in the North are in favour of irish unity. That figure is an increase from 27 per cent in 2022.
Accepting that a border poll will need to take place on both sides of the border, the Cavan-Monaghan TD said that figure should rise significantly when the benefits of unification is set out for the public ahead of such a poll:
