Protests took place earlier today at several hospitals calling on the Minister for health to stop the bypass of Navan Hospital that is due to take place from this Wednesday.
The Save Navan Hospital Campaign Group organised protests in Navan, Drogheda, Mullingar, Cavan, Limerick and Ennis.
It comes as updated ambulance bypass protocols between Our Lady's Hospital in Navan and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda are to begin this week.

This diversion of Navan Hosptial will have a major knock on effect on Cavan Hosptial Emergency Department.
