The annual launch of the Darkness into Light event for Cavan and Monaghan took place lastnight at the Monaghan Harps GAA club.
Local organisers and volunteers were able to come together for the first time in two years, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Chairperson for Darkness into Light Cavan, Fiona Corby, claims local communities have "missed" the popular event, which will take place in full on May seventh this year.

She says Cavan in particular has been "hit" by a large number of suicides over the last two years.
However, Fiona believes the upcoming event in May will provide vital support to those who are struggling with their mental health and also to families who have been bereaved by suicide.
