"Buying land at the minute is the new villa in Spain."
That's according to Cavan auctioneer, Eamon Gaffney who is based in Cornafean.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier today, Mr Gaffney says the current demand for land and surge in sale prices is a combination of many things.

He claims there is an "incentive" to purchasing land and leasing it out, as the funds received cannot be taxed.
The Cavan auctioneer says businesses are viewing this incentive as a safe and secure investment move, however it is making life "difficult" for farmers who are trying to buy land.
