Cllr TP O'Reilly has called for an investigation into why Irish people are not seeing the benefits of wind energy here.
He was speaking during a discussion on rising energy costs at a recent meeting of Cavan County Council.
Cllr O'Reilly highlighted how 70% of the country was efficient in wind energy, yet costs continued to rise for the consumer.

He said that while global matters were outside of everyone's control, wind energy developments here was something that could be examined further
Cllr O'Reilly added that Irish people needed to know why they are not seeing reductions in tandem with that.
