A local county councillor is supporting calls for a ban of vaping in pubs.
Brendan Fay is the owner of the Widow's Bar in Belturbet and he believes vape products should be included under the smoking ban.
Cllr Fay is an advocate for banning single use vapes throughout the island of Ireland, as he believes the harm they are doing to people, particularly young people is not yet even understood properly.
He says using a re-fillable vape as a way to quit smoking is the way these products should be used, but that it should become less easy to access and use vapes.
He made the point that a lot of people quit smoking because they didn't want to leave the table and go outside when the smoking ban came in.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Cllr Fay said that any measure to reduce the ease of use for these products is helpful.
"There's a couple of publicans that have been on to me, one particular publican has banned smoking and vaping because it sets off a smoke alarm and it was a way for him to say it's banned inside. A lot of people quit smoking because they didn't want to get up and have to stand outside the door. Let's make it more difficult for people. If you're sitting there in the comfort of a warm pub and you're vaping away it's very easy but if you're thinking of getting up and going outside into a smoking area that mightn't be heated, it gets a bit more uncomfortable "
