John Murphy, an abuse survivor has credited a County Cavan farm and its family for saving his life.
Before his support team recommended he join the Social Farming scheme 12 years ago, John was withdrawn, mistrusting of everyone and struggled to cope with life.
Now, he gives talks on social farming to crowded rooms, he travels the length and breadth of the country attending vintage shows and has a close circle of friends.

He is also employed on Richard and Jackie Moeran's Alpha Organics Farm in Mountnugent. John says because of the great outdoors on the Co Cavan farm, he now looks forward to living life to the full.
