Cavan Gael and former manager PJ Carroll passes away

In a lifetime spent on or on the sidelines of a GAA pitch, the Cavan Gaels clubman represented Cavan at minor, U21, junior level winning three Cavan SFC titles. 

PJ Carroll, the former Cavan. Sligo and Leitrim football manager has died.

He was on the first Cavan Gaels team to win the county SFC in 1965 and won further medals in 1975 and ‘77.

He previously managed Cavan in 1993 and 1994 aswell as Leitrim in 1989 and Sligo in 1995 and 1996

He also served as the PRO of the Cavan County Board and worked with the Anglo Celt Newspaper

PJ Carroll's remains will repose at his home on the Cootehill Road, Cavan on Thursday from 3pm until 7pm and leave his home at 2 o'clock on Friday to travel on foot to the Cathedral of Saints Patrick and Felim Cavan for funeral mass at 2:30pm.
