A local Labour representative has weighed-in on the controversy surrounding the sentencing of former Garda Paul Moody.
Mr Moody was sentenced to more than three years in prison for a four-year campaign of harassment, threats, assaults and coercive control of his terminally-ill partner.
While the former Garda has since resigned from An Garda Síochána, there is public concern over the fact that Moody will be allowed to hold on to his Garda pension.
Speaking on today's Joe Finnegan show about the matter, Cavan's Liam Van Der Spek believes stripping Mr Moody of his Garda pension is "reasonable to consider."
