The Irish Farmers Journal has announced the appointment of Adam Woods as the new Editor of the publication.
A native of Ballyconnell in Co Cavan, Adam has been an ever-present member of the Irish Farmers Journal’s senior editorial leadership team for the past decade, and has served as Deputy Editor of the publication for the past two years.
He first joined the Irish Farmers Journal in 2016 as Beef Editor, where he was responsible for shaping the technical and news coverage of both the Irish beef industry and the international beef sector.
Over the years, Adam has overseen beef programmes and other technical programmes for the Irish Farmers Journal.
Adam was also integral in the development of the Martbids real-time bidding app now being used in over 30 marts around the country. In September 2024, he was appointed Deputy Editor of the Irish Farmers Journal.
Prior to joining the Irish Farmers Journal, Adam worked in advisory, research and specialist roles in Teagasc.
According to the Journa, lAdam brings considerable leadership and experience to the role of Editor.
He has managed the editorial responsibilities of the paper for the past number of months, and his passion for quality editorial content has been clear to see each week in the Irish Farmers Journal.
Adam’s appointment as Editor comes after an exhaustive selection process over recent weeks and has been ratified by the board of the Agricultural Trust, the independent media organisation which publishes the Irish Farmers Journal, The Irish Field, Irish Country Magazine and The Irish Garden publications.
