Danny Heyneman was accused of murdering his mother Annie Heyneman and attempting to murder his father Henk Heyneman and was set to go trial today.
The Central Criminal Court was told that Mr Heyneman was being arraigned this afternoon where he when was asked how did he plead, he answered by saying guilty to both charges.
A sentencing date of the 19th of May has been fixed for both charges and the court was told that evidence and family impact statements will be given on that date.

The 32-year- old with an address at Kilnavart, Ballyconnell in Co Cavan killed his mother at their family home on Derrycassan Lane on January 11th, 2025.
Danny was in court today has been in custody since his arrest in January of 2025.
On the night of January 11th, Gardaí were alerted to what they described as a serious incident in the rural townland of Kilnavart, around 7km west of Ballyconnell.
Annie Heyneman was pronounced dead at the scene that night when emergency services reached the home while her husband Hank fought for his life following the incident.
Ms Heyneman, a 55-year-old mother of five, was from the West Cavan area and met her husband in the Netherlands before they settled with their family back in Ireland.
Danny Heyneman was arrested at a chip shop in Ballyconnell at about 9.40pm on that night fatal night.
He walked into the Big Bite chip shop in the town and asked the owner to call the gardaí and an ambulance and he was bleeding heavily.
Mr Heyneman came before Justice Paul McDermott today in courtroom no 6 at the Central Criminal Court. His family were present for the short hearing this afternoon.
