Emergency Departments across Cavan and Monaghan are experiencing unprecedented numbers of presentations this week.
As a result people are being asked to visit their GP instead of accessing A&E services. Due to multiple outbreaks of Covid-19 and Flu, the hospital group is also restricting visitations at all locations including at Lisdarn in Cavan.
The hospital group is describing the current situation as challenging. It is advising patients who have medical concerns, that are not an emergency, to contact their GP or local pharmacy before attending ED.
