Cavan/Monaghan students await results of BT Young Scientist Exhibition

All eyes are on this evening’s awards ceremony, where the winner(s) of the 59th BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition will finally be announced at 7pm.

Around 1,100 students who have showcased 550 projects at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition this week, will soon find out who has emerged victorious.

President Michael D Higgins opened the event at the RDS on Wednesday.

Students from schools from across the country took part in the event.

Coláiste Dún an Rí in Kingscourt are one of the schools that are taking part in this year's exhibition

Meanwhile reporter Jodie Curran also spoke with students Lauren McCaughey, Rebecca Harris and Hannah Quinn who are all from Castleblayney College and who took part in this week's exhibition in Dublin:

Other school's representing Cavan and Monaghan at the BT young scientist and technology exhibition at the RDS in Dublin include: Our Lady's Secondary School Castleblayney, Largy College, Breifne College and Lorreto College in Cavan.
