People are being warned to take extreme care as temperatures reach up to 29 degrees today.
Both Cavan and Monaghan along with 12 other counties will come under a yellow warning for high temperatures from midday.
That will be extended to all parts of the country tomorrow, while the Department of Agriculture has issued a red warning for extreme risk of gorse and forest fires until next Monday.
Locals are being encouraged to not light any outdoor fires or barbecues, take rubbish home, and ensure cigarettes are disposed of properly.
