Cavan motorist drove 62km over limit on cocaine

162km/h, that's the speed one motorist was travelling in a 100km/h zone in Cavan.

The driver not only was 61km over the speed at the weekend but in fact failed a drugs test. The motorist tested positive for cocaine and was arrested.

Following blood samples taken, the driver was charged at Cavan Court for dangerous driving. Gardai are reminding motorists to slow down or face a hefty fine and penalty points for speeding or the cause of a collision.
