Cavan has been ranked as one of the least safe counties of Ireland.
That's according to research carried out by Long & Co which looked at crime criteria between September 1st 2020 - 2025.
The report found Roscommon to be the safest county, with Dublin found to be the least safe.
Cavan was found to be the second least safe county in Ireland and Monaghan ranked as 6th safest.
In it's research Long & Co, noted that In Cavan, a total of 21,955 crimes were reported to the 176 Gardaí, giving them a hefty workload of 125 cases each.
This was compared to the statistics from Roscommon which showed 5,217 crimes were reported to 145 Gardaí, giving them 36 cases each to handle.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, John Paul Feeley, said there is no acceptable level of crime and everyone is entitled to feel safe.
He said Ireland is a largely safe country.
