The Cavan Roads Policing Unit issued a number of notices for driving offences over the weekend.
Patrols and checkpoints were carried out in Cavan and also on the N3.
According to the Cavan Monaghan Garda Division, notices were issued for speeding, bald tyres, holding mobile phones while driving and the non wearing of seatbelts.

One driver was detected driving a 40 tonne Heavy Goods Vehicle at 102kmph despite the legal limit of 80kmph for a vehicle of this kind.
