Cavan Senator Joe O'Reilly is backing Leo Varadkar as leader of the Fine Gael party, despite his dwindling popularity.
Speaking on this week's Joe Finnegan Show, Seanator O'Reilly said the Taoiseach enjoyed "high ratings" following the Covid-19 pandemic, and the current situation is just part of the course.
He says that a Fine Gael Parliamentary meeting this week saw not one opposing voice to Mr Varadkar's leadership.

Senator O'Reilly highlighted how the Taoiseach has faced three major crisisis over the last few years including Brexit, the Covid-19 pandemic; and most recently, the cost of living crisis.
He added that Mr Varadkar lead the country through all those matters with distinction.
