Social farming is a way to give back to the community.
That's according to Grace Cooney who has a small enterprise along side her husband in east Cavan.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Grace said the couple are experimenting at the moment with plans to expand in the future.
Having worked overseas for years, it was the lure of the land and family that brought Grace back to Cavan.
She and her husband work outside of the farm but plan to build on what they have as time goes on.
"There are so many things that you just want to give back to people," Grace continued.
"By opening our farm gates we are giving something back.
"We have had Americans, Chinese and Ukrainians visit us here and they have been able to share something with us.
"And that is what it's all about."
