A Co Cavan undertaker says a traditional Irish funeral is still the primary choice for people living in the Northern Sound region.

The Kingscourt undertaker outlined that trends have changed over the last 15-10 years, including the popularity of funeral homes and services becoming more personalised.

Speaking on this week's Joe Finnegan Show, the local undertaker said "unfortunately" there is a misconception about how expensive funerals can be.

He said a traditional religious Irish funeral in the Northern Sound region will cost a family between 5,000 and 7,000 euro depending on what the family choose.
