Cavan woman highlights importance of volunteering

Eileen who embodies the spirit of community and volunteerism has encouraged people to give what they can when it comes to volunteering for your local GAA club.

A Co Cavan woman has highlighted the importance of volunteering, particularly when it comes to safeguarding GAA clubs and facilities for generations to come.
Eileen Clarke of Bailieborough Shamrocks GAA has been announced as Ulster's runner-up of Eirgrid's GAA Community Heroes Campaign.
Eileen who embodies the spirit of community and volunteerism has encouraged people to give what they can when it comes to volunteering for your local GAA club.

According to Eileen, the skills and confidence that she has built from volunteering over the years has been "invaluable" to her.
Eileen said getting involved with Bailieboro Shamrocks GAA has allowed her to make many friends, grow in confidence while also gaining a great sense of achievement.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the local volunteer said the jobs are very worthwhile but it's not for us, it's for our kids and the generations to come:
