A Co Cavan woman is on a mission to help combat winter loneliness.
Ann Marie Sexton started the 'Walkie, Talkie and Tea' initiative to support people of all ages who suffer from loneliness, particularly during the winter months.
According to Ann Marie, loneliness doesn't just effect the elderly, it can impact anyone at any age or any stage of life.
As a result of this, Ann Marie said it was important for her to create a group where people of all ages and abilities could come together for a walk, a talk and a cup tea.
The first event will start this Monday at 7:30pm at the Orchard in Co Cavan.
Speaking to Northern Sound, she said the 'Walkie, Talkie and Tea' initiative is a "simple idea" with a "big purpose."
She hopes it will act as an outlet for people to come and socialise and leave feeling like their mind is lighter and less alone:
