CCTV in Ballybay will offer a greater level of security for people in Ballybay.
That's according to Cllr Seán Gilliland who says CCTV will go a long way to prevent vandalism at a local amenity in the town.
Cllr Gillliland says the cameras will be installed at the changing area beside the Lido in Ballybay Town Park and on the main street in Ballybay.
The local Fine Gael councillor says people need to feel safe and he said him and others were not going to allow thugs continue to vandalise the popular amenity.
He confirmed that there are more Garda patrols in the area and the people of the town and wider area were not going to accept this kind of behaviour.
Cllr Gilliland said CCTV would be a game changer adding that it would leave people much safer than they may feel now.
