Cavan councillor, Carmel Brady has been elected as the new Chairperson of the Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board.
The Fine Gael representative takes over the role from Councillor Colm Carthy.
In a statement following his departure, Cllr Carthy "thanked" all the members of the board, the executive and the wider staff of Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board for their support during his time in the role.

Meanwhile, South Monaghan representative, Aidan Campbell will serve as Deputy Chair.
