An historic day is how Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council, Cllr Clifford Kelly, described the official opening of the newly restored Cavan Town Hall Arts Centre.
He along with Minister Heather Humphreys officiated at proceedings earlier this week.
Cllr Kelly said the restoration had been carried out with great sensitivity while retaining the historic building's charm.

He added that the centre along with Ramor Theatre in Virginia would now place Co Cavan at the heart of the national arts scene.
The Cathaoirleach also paid tribute to everyone whose "vision and perseverance" ensured the project came to fruition.
