Cllr Trevor Smith was elected as the new Cathaoirleach of the Ballyjamesduff MD this afternoon, taking over from Shane P O'Reilly.
The Fine Gael councillor was proposed by Cllr TP O'Reilly and seconded by Cllr Philip Brady.
It's the second time that Cllr Smith has had the honour of being elected as the chair of the MD. He says he looks forward to a very successful year in his community as being the Cathaoirleach.
Cllr Smith takes over the role that was held by Mullagh councillor, Shane P O'Reilly for the past 12 months. The Ballyjamesduff representative has thanked the other councillors for giving him the opportunity as chairperson of the Ballyjamesduff Municipal District.
