The latest aspect of the RESTART project in the PEACEPLUS programme has been launched.
Last year, Monaghan County Council welcomed €8.4 million in funding for the project, which will see significant strategic investment in the towns of Newtownbutler, Clones, and Belturbet.
Local councillor, Pat Treanor, attended the launch of the project in Newtownbutler last week, which will see the old RUC station in the town regenerated.
The RESTART project will also regenerate the Old Fisherman's cottage at the Ulster Canal Stores Visitor Centre, and an Old Building in Belturbet.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr. Treanor welcomed the news.
He said that the project brings the community together.
Cllr Treanor said: "Its an area that was always together before partition, so its bringing communities together again.
"I think its a positive way to address the neglect that this area has suffered over the years," he added.
