Clontibret man Benny Magennis has took home a Silver-Gilt award at this year's Bord Bia Bloom.
Benny partnered with the Marie Keating Foundation this year and his 'Early Bird Catches the Worm' garden came up trumps in the Medium Garden category.
The Clontibret man is no stranger to Bord Bia Bloom, with this being his fourth garden design. He won Silver at the event in 2022 for his 'Minion's' Garden in the Show Garden Concept category.

Speaking to Northern Sound following his win earlier today, Benny said that the Marie Keating Foundation provides such vital support supports to those on a cancer journey, and this was at the forefront of his mind when designing and developing the garden. He said he wanted it to reflect the key messages around education and awareness, while also creating a space that fosters a sense of community.
He said he "jumped at the chance" to create a garden with the Marie Keating Foundation, adding that the garden is a way of "driving home" the message that prevention is better than cure, and the importance of looking after your own health:
