Co Cavan farmer says it has to be treated as a business

A Co Cavan dairy farmer agrees that farming can be thought of as a vocation more than a profession.

Christopher Cahill from Crosskeys in Co Cavan is the current FBD Young Farmer of the Year.

He is a dairy farmer with 240 cows for milking.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Christopher explained, it can be overpowering if you let it and he tries to keep the system as possible.

Christopher says changes in technology have meant a new life for farmers to be able to plan for breaks or holidays.
