A Co Cavan man has shared his story of dealing with his mental health struggles in an effort to help others.
Connor Kelly has been raising awareness surrounding mental health and has been fundraising for SOSAD Cavan for a number of years.
Conor says he has used the SOSAD service and continues to be in contact with them and knows first-hand what the service has done for him.
He has been taking on cycling challenges, dipping in cold lakes for weeks on end and now in less than two months he will be facing the biggest challenge he has faced which is climbing Carrauntoohil 11 times.
The 33 year old has been using social media to share his story and to be there for anyone who may be struggling in an effort to help others. Connor has set up a Facebook page to help others entitled Lets Talk Mental Health.
Connor himself say he has had issues with dealing with his own mental health since the age of 6 and has used the services available to him in Cavan over the years. The local man outlined how alcohol was the common theme throughout his life and he has not drank any alcohol in the past 11 months.
