A powerful blizzard dropped more than 30cms of snow across parts yesterday bringing travel to a near standstill for millions.
A Co Cavan woman who was due to return home from New York had her flight cancelled following treacherous conditions.
Anne Conney's flight was one of some 5,700 flights shelved due to the amount of snow that fell across the US. The Co Cavan woman is hoping she can board a flight from New York this evening.
People in New York were urged to stay home yesterday. Anne says it was a certainly an once in a lifetime experience and says all she wants now is to get back home now.
She described the sight the morning after the storm had passed.
Meanwhile Boston was also hit very bad following the storm.
