Well known Co. Monaghan singer Gerry Black has died.
The Castleblayney man died peacefully, surrounded by his family yesterday.
Speaking on social media, Eileen's Tea Rooms in Castleblayney said that Mr. Black ranks alongside all of the great artists that 'Blayney has produced.
They described Gerry Black as a "quiet and self effacing man" and paid condolences to his family.
Tributes have also come in on RIP.ie, thanking Gerry for the memories of dancing around ballrooms around the Monaghan area.
Other tributes described Gerry as a wonderful musician, who always had a kind word and a friendly smile.
