An interagency approach is the only way forward to tackle domestic violence.
That's according to Siobhan McKenna of Tearmann Cavan-Monaghan who highlighted the importance of collective responses.
One in three women will experience domestic or sexual abuse in their lifetime.
Siobhan McKenna who has worked with the local support service for almost 30 years also highlighted the importance of early intervention, and the role that schools can play when it comes to educating young people on certain behaviours and red flags.
Tearmann Cavan-Monaghan is starting a collaboration with MOVE (Men Overcoming Violent Emotions), the Men's Development Network, Cavan and Monaghan ETB and other agencies to address this.
A workshop is planned for the Garage Theatre in Monaghan on the 13th of May.
