Sinn Fein TD Cathy Bennett has voiced her concerns over the removal of dermatology services at Monaghan Hospital.
The HSE confirmed that dermatology services will be transferred from Monaghan Hospital to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
The HSE says that consolidating dermatology services on a single site supports a more streamlined and efficient model of care.
Despite this, Deputy Bennett believes the people of Co Monaghan are as entitled to health services within their own community the same as anyone else in the State.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Deputy Bennett described the transfer of services away from Monaghan as "simply not good enough."
She told Northern Sound: "We need staff and management putting in applications to get better services in our county hospital and we as political representatives from all parties need to put the pressure on to ensure that that this dermatology service is not removed from Monaghan Hospital. The people of Monaghan will not stand for this and the people of Monaghan do not want services removed from their hospital."
