Independent candidate Catherine Connolly looks set to become Ireland's tenth President, with an overwhelming level of support across the country.
Former Cavan/Monaghan TD, Heather Humphreys is trailing well behind the Galway TD according to the tally.
Here in Cavan/Monaghan, Humphreys stronghold, she’s coming out on top and bucking her national trend according to the tally which is now almost complete.
The tally tells us here that Heather Humphreys is averaging around the 58% mark, Catherine Connolly is coming in around 38%, and Jim Gavin is at 3%.
The big one here is the spoilt vote figure which according to the tally is at 12%.
In a box opened in Heathers area of Killeevan, it showed us 58 for Catherine Connolly, 1 for Jim Gavin, 203 for Heather Humphreys and 13 spoilt votes.
Once the sorting of votes finish here, the counting of them will take place and the details of the count here will be forwarded to Dublin Castle where later this evening the next President of Ireland will be announced.
