Cavan County Council has engaged a consultant to assist in the development and extension of the Cavan Town Urban Greenway. A new website has also been launched to allow the general public get involved in the process and feel part of the development of the scheme.
The council hopes to develop a landmark greenway which maximizes the landscape, scenery and amenities that Cavan Town has to offer. According to Cavan County Council, the developed route will form part of a regionally significant greenway as it will link up with other proposed greenways that will traverse counties: Armagh, Monaghan, Fermanagh, Leitrim and Cavan.
"This will allow the northern end of the route to connect with the proposed Cavan Railway Greenway," the local authority added.
