A consultation process about the future of education provided by the St Louis Secondary School, Carrickmacross and Patrician High School, Carrickmacross is entering a second phase. The patrons of St Louis, Le Chéile and The Patricia High School, The Diocese of Clogher have decided to jointly undertake a full consultation with all the school partners including the boards of management, school staffs, parents, students, including parents of feeder primary school children.
In a statement issued by the Diocese of Clogher, the patrons said they wanted to emphasise they have "no pre-determined outcome in mind". In fact, the patrons stress, they are "very keen for an honest exchange of views with all interested parties". They went on to say they will be guided in any future decisions by the views of the local school partners. The whole process will be overseen by an independent facilitator.
