A Co Cavan man who died following a fatal road crash near Cootehill yesterday has been named locally.
Patsy McKenna of Nobby's Pub, Corgreagh, Kill, Cootehill, died in the single vehicle collision which involved a motorcycle near Cootehill yesterday morning.
Mr McKenna who is aged in his late 70s was airlifted to hospital where he was later pronounced dead and a post-mortem examination is to take place in due course.
The road remained closed throughout the day while Garda forensic collision investigators carried out an examination of the scene.
The road has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to the collision.
