A Monaghan father and son have spoken about the peace of the bog as they continue a family tradition of hand-cutting turf.
Charlie Deery, who is 92, and his son, Fr Cathal Deery, spoke on the Joe Finnegan Show about their shared love of the bog.
Charlie said he has been cutting turf since he was 13 and still enjoys the peace and quiet of the bog each year.
Speaking on the show this morning Fr Cathal explained how he has become more appreciative of the bog as he has gotten older.
